My journey to better health has continued and is now in it's 4th year. I have managed to maintain my weight loss for almost 3 years. There have been some obstacles along the way with one being knee surgery in September of 2007. While training for an upcoming fitness competition I managed to tear my left ACL in my knee. Surgery followed with a complete ACL replacement as well as some other repairs in my "OLD" knees. I had a speedy recovery and was back to the gym within 1 week of surgery. If you can't run or do lower body weights you can always do the bike and upper body lifting. I was back running soon and did my first 5K just 3 months after surgery. Although I enjoy the running I have had to surrender some of the longer distance running and have replaced it with the bike. I have enjoyed the biking so much. My journey has been a good one and I hope it continues to be. The road to better health is awesome!
* Update as of November 2011. I had stopped going to my chubby girl aka Weight Watcher meetings and hadn't been diligent about taking my Advocare products for a couple of years. Although I continued to work-out and eat well my weight started to creep back up. In January of 2011 I had a renewed commitment to Advocare products and in July of 2011 I started back to my chubby girl meetings. I am now in my mid forties and starting to see the scale go down again. The lesson learned here is that it takes a village to continue on the path of better health. I am mindful of what I eat, I train daily, I attend my chubby girl meetings weekly and I use my Advocare products. This combination makes me look and feel great. Show up and make it count! Cindy
